Northeast Conference Tournament: Wagner Knocked Out By Quinnipiac, 87-78
Senior center Bill Romano scored 28 points and freshman guard Rob Monroe had 27 to lead Quinnipiac to an 87-78 victory over Wagner on Friday night in the quarterfinals of the Northeast Conference tournament. Seventh-seeded Quinnipiac (13-15) will play the winner of the Maryland-Baltimore County-Robert Morris game in Saturday's semifinals. What made the win even more of an upset was that the quarterfinals and semifinals are played at the Spiro Sports Center on the Wagner College campus. The championship game is Wednesday night at the highest remaining seed.
